Palomino RV

Palomino is an RV manufacturer that got its start making tent trailers in the late 1960s. Vern Landley, the founder of Vangard Industries and originator of the Palamino brand, had previously operated a tent trailer distributorship, and set out to build units that both well-made and lightweight to satisfy the needs of the day. Although Vangard Industries produced Palaminos and operated independently for 30 years, it was purchased by Forest River in 1998. Since then, Forest River itself has changed hands (to Warren Buffet’s Berkshire Hathaway.) Today, Palamino is operated as a separate division of Forest River rather than a simple rebadge.

Like Forest River, Palamino produces a wide range of RVs on a variety of platforms. Unlike Forest River, Palamino doesn’t offer any motorized RVs. They do produce fifth wheels, toy haulers, travel trailers, and pop up campers. Their pop ups fall into two categories: tent trailers and truck campers. They offer three different lines of tent trailers and two lines of pop up truck campers, all of which have tent-style soft sides.
